The Planetarium at the Astronomy Space Science Gallery in Science City, Ahmedabad, executed in collaboration with CCEL, offers a remarkable stargazing experience. It combines advanced technology with thoughtful design to provide visitors with a closer look at the universe.

Innovative Design

The Planetarium features an 18-meter projection dome made from a seamless aluminium screen. Designed to enhance viewing, the dome provides a 360° horizontal and 180° vertical field of view with a 10-degree tilt, ensuring that every seat offers a clear and immersive perspective of the celestial display.

Advanced Projection Capabilities

Equipped with a hybrid projection system, the Planetarium is capable of showcasing:
• The solar system, including planets like Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, the Sun, and the Moon.
• Up to 20 million stars, including those visible in the Milky Way.
• 4K active 3D digital dome shows, providing detailed and immersive visuals.
• 4K 2D hybrid and digital dome shows, combining mechanical accuracy with digital presentation.

Comfort and Immersion

The Planetarium is designed for comfort, with 180 pushback seats that are angled for optimal viewing of the dome. A 5.1 surround sound system provides clear and dynamic audio, further enhancing the experience.
